Advanced Decompression

There are some dive sites a little deeper, in more challenging locations, that are only within reach of divers who have decided to do the work, broaden the scope of their training, and make the most of their opportunities. Open to twinset or sidemount divers wanting to plan and execute dives using 2 different decompression gases to optimise off-gassing during ascent.

Available in two options: 50m air and nitrox or 50m air, nitrox and trimix.

Minimum of 1 confined water dive and 8 open water dives.

Nitrox and Trimix gases incur an extra cost to cover both the student and instructor.

TECHNICAL OC PATHWAY

REASONS TO TAKE THIS COURSE

  • There are some dive sites a little deeper, in more challenging locations, that are only within reach of those divers who have decided to do the work and broaden the scope of their training and make the most of their opportunities. If that sounds like you, then this is your next step. Advanced Decompression diving with RAID is open to twinset or sidemount divers wanting to plan and execute dives using two different decompression gases to optimize off-gassing during ascent. Certifications for RAID’s Advanced Decompression course are offered in two options: 50 metres air and nitrox; 50 metres air, nitrox, trimix. It is available to open circuit divers in twinset or sidemount configuration.40 metres air and nitrox | 45 metres air, nitrox | 45 metres air, nitrox, trimix.

SKILLS (WHAT YOU’LL LEARN)

This course builds confidence and understanding about the effects of diving beyond any recreational limits, and executing complex staged decompression dives as part of a team with other serious divers. And once again, performance and comfort based on gear selection and management, trim, buoyancy, and propulsion are key.

OUTCOME

Every dive done prior to this course is part of the preparation to reach this level of dive training and competence.

(N.B. In many parts of the world, helium is either difficult to source or extremely expensive. RAID has developed a deep-diving program for customers faced with this situation… see here>>>)
